From beautiful beaches to tranquil bushland reserves, over 33,000 hectares, or approximately 33%, of the Gosford Local Government Area is comprised of open space areas.


A large proportion of these open space areas are under the management of Gosford City Council including natural reserves, mountains, bushlands, beaches, wetlands, foreshores, estuaries, active recreation areas (including a number of sports grounds, skate parks and associated facilities) and passive recreation areas (including parks and playgrounds). To ensure the long term sustainability of these areas and facilities, Council is currently in the process of developing a strategic plan that will provide direction for the provision and management of open space areas, recreation facilities and leisure programs to accommodate current and future community needs.

    Sometimes there is a certain something that makes us want to go back to the same place over and over again. What is it that draws you back to your favourite open space area or recretion facility? Is there a lot of space so that you can catch up with a group of family and friends? Are there particular facilities or features of the space or facility that you use? Do you feel safe at that particular place? Is it the tranquility of being away from the crowds? We want to know what makes an area or facility attractive and useable for you.
